Biography

I joined Franke Beckett as an associate attorney in September 2021. Prior to joining the firm, I served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Pamela K. Alban on the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Serving as Judge Alban’s law clerk gave me an incomparable perspective at the beginning of my career. For a new lawyer, clerking at the trial court level gave me insight into how the judiciary operates, the life cycle of a case, the skills of litigation, and how to succeed as a new lawyer. I watched and listened to a variety of cases, mainly civil, family, and criminal matters. I learned the do’s and don’ts of the legal profession from judges, attorneys, courthouse staff, and fellow law clerks.

My interest in Estates and Trusts law developed during my third year of law school while enrolled in an Estates and Trusts course taught by Professor Paula Monopoli. Professor Monopoli opened my eyes to a field of law that I had not previously encountered during law school. What attracted me to Estates and Trusts law is the forward-thinking protective planning for one’s future and the client-focused nature of the practice area. I pursued this interest by enrolling in an estate planning seminar during my final semester. In this course, I was introduced to a fictional family and learned about their personal and financial affairs. My assignment was to develop an estate plan for my fictional family that would best serve their needs. Now, as a member of the firm, I have the opportunity to work with real individuals and families to create an estate plan that accomplishes their goals.

I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics, and a minor in History. Following graduation, I went to the University of Maryland, Francis King Carey School of Law. While at Maryland Law, I served as an Associate Editor on the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender and Class, mentored 1L students as a Peer Advisor, and served as the Judges’ Committee Co-Chair on the National Trial Team. In addition to serving as a co-chair, I also competed as a member of the National Trial Team in four competitions. I graduated cum laude from Maryland Law with a Juris Doctor in May 2020.

I was admitted to practice in Maryland in December 2020.

I was born and raised in Annapolis, Maryland. Outside of the office, I enjoy boating, reading fiction novels, and spending time with my friends and family. As a Maryland Alum, I also serve as a volunteer coach for the Maryland National Trial Team.
